‘Maps to Connected Perception: Deep Ecology, Plant Medicine and Animism as Gateways into the Wider Body of Earth’ at The Embodiment Conference, 2020 (Ecology & Research Channel).
Skye and Miraz are passionate about ecological identification, protection and regeneration. They are ‘perceptual activists’, mapping out the jagged terrain between separation and a culture of ‘interbeing’. Skye comes from a background in Taoist medicine and wildlife conservation, and Miraz used to be a corporate lawyer. They met in the Peruvian Amazon where they underwent a 5-year apprenticeship in curanderismo (the regional tradition of plant spirit medicine), while leading healing retreats. They have been lit up by the movement of Deep Ecology / The Work That Reconnects, and currently facilitate retreats and study groups to raise awareness, build resilience and keep themselves sane. They also facilitate breathwork and plant medicine intensives.
